PRETORIA
Pretoria is the executive capital of South Africa (RSA), and one of three capital cities in the country. Cape Town is the legislative capital, and Bloemfontein is the judicial capital.
South Africa has three capitals, each serving a different purpose:
- Pretoria: Pretoria is the administrative capital of South Africa. It is where the executive branch of the government, including the President’s official residence (the Union Buildings), is located.
- Cape Town: Cape Town is the legislative capital of South Africa. The Parliament of South Africa is situated in Cape Town.
- Bloemfontein: Bloemfontein is the judicial capital of South Africa. It is home to the country’s highest courts, including the Supreme Court of Appeal.
These three capitals were established to distribute the functions of the government across different regions of the country.
